HBAR’s Greg Bell Talks Verifiable Compute with OpenAI Exec & Harvard AI Researcher


 

Hedera Hashgraph’s Greg Bell, Chief Business Officer at The HBAR Foundation, met with Dr. Ronnie Chatterji, Chief Economist at OpenAI, and Mark Esposito, a researcher at Harvard, for AI discussions on Verifiable Compute.

According to Greg Bell, there was a lot to unpack regarding Hedera’s Verifiable Compute in collaboration with Nvidia, Intel, and EQTY Lab.

 

The meeting occurred on April 29, 2025, the same day that EQTY Lab representatives spoke at the RSA Conference in San Francisco.

The HBAR Foundation’s Greg Bell updated the Hedera community with a picture from a recent meeting with Dr. Ronnie Chatterji, a current OpenAI executive, and Mark Esposito, a researcher on artificial intelligence.

At the same time, EQTY Lab took the stage at the RSA Conference to speak on AI innovations and their current project with Hedera, Intel, and Nvidia, known as Verifiable Compute. 

Due to launch in 2025, Verifiable Compute is a joint collaboration project for enhancing trust for AI workflows by utilizing Hedera Hashgraph’s blockchain network and various hardware securities. 

 

The goal of Verifiable Compute is to debut a tamper-proof, immutable framework for AI solutions and processes, following rigorous international regulations.

The framework leverages the Hedera Consensus Service to create an immutable ledger of AI computations, harnessing the transparency and trust of Web3 to set a new standard for enterprise AI governance. 

Verifiable Compute aims to innovate AI technological progress by bringing newfound transparency and security to AI solutions and operations. Using Hedera cryptography, Nvidia, Intel, and EQTY Lab will develop a new way to create reliable AI processes.

The Verifiable Compute project is important for global AI security and AI regulatory compliance, addressing concerns of AI transparency and trust when it comes to companies developing autonomous AI use cases and various AI implementations. 

Although there are no insights into what Greg Bell spoke about with the OpenAI executive and AI researcher, the meeting brings newfound wonder to the EQTY Lab project and what it means for the future of Hedera and AI innovations.

Hedera HBAR to pursue AI and institutional interests in 2025

According to Hedera Hashgraph, in a press release from December 2024, Verifiable Compute is due to launch in Q1 2025. 

Since the announcement of Verifiable Compute, Hashgraph has announced the upcoming release of HashSphere, a new permissioned Hashgraph network designed for institutional clients.

HashSphere will allow institutions to make cross-border payments, issue stablecoins, and make private, secure transactions. The network may introduce clientele to the Hedera network and the HBAR token for decentralized, permissionless use cases.
